Photo: Bird Flu Will Reach U.S. and Canada This Fall, Experts Predict

Experts warn that the deadly H5N1 strain of avian influenza will likely reach North America within the next 6 to 12 months. It's possible, health officials say, that in the Arctic infected birds from Asia could bring the disease to their North American counterparts, such as snow geese, who could then carry it south during their fall migrations.
