Photo: Colossal Squid May Be Microwaved



The largest known colossal squid is brought on board a New Zealand fishing boat on February 22, 2007, in the Ross Sea near Antarctica.

Frozen shortly after it was caught, the squid needs to be defrosted before scientists can properly examine it. A giant microwave machine has been suggested, though one squid expert calls the idea "crazy."
