Photo: Lunar Photos Cast Doubt on Recent Mars Water, Astronomers Say



The Nanedi Vallis canyon on the Martian surface as imaged by the Mars Orbital Camera in 1998. The canyon is marked by channels that suggest liquid water recently flowed on the red planet. But now evidence of similar channels on the moon have some astronomers countering this popular theory, saying the formations could be the result of dry rockslides.
