Photo: Bizarre Squid Sex Techniques Revealed

A male Moroteuthis ingens squid lies on the deck of a research vessel with its body opened to show internal organs in an undated photo.

Research released in December 2008 showed that the species reproduces using packets of sperm that burrow into the bodies of females.
