Photo: Mars Once Had Oceans, New Evidence Suggests



An artist's reconstruction shows Mars as it might have looked more than two billion years ago, with a massive ocean filling a basin that now lies in the planet's north.

Evidence for the ocean that had previously been discounted because of strange surface features shouldn't be discounted, suggest scientists who have developed a new theory about Mars's shifting poles.
