Photo: Head Trauma Contributed to Iceman's Demise

The iceman known as Oetzi, found in 1991 on an Italian glacier, lies on an examination table in this undated picture.

Severe head trauma likely contributed to the prehistoric man's demise 5,300 years ago, according to new research. But even without a blow to the head, the 46-year-old man would have bled to death from the arrowhead wound in his shoulder, the scientists note.
