Photo: Flying Lemurs With "Backpacks" Reveal Gliding Secrets



A colugo—a cat-size gliding mammal often called a flying lemur—wears a high-tech backpack chock full of sensors.

Although the animal does not technically fly, its agile gliding could provide inspiration for designers of flexible-wing aircraft, a new study says.
