Photo: "Zombie" Roaches Lose Free Will Due to Wasp Venom



With a single jab into the brain, a jewel wasp can turn a cockroach into the living dead.

The wasp's venom inhibits a particular substance in the cockroach's brain that controls free will and movement, scientists have found—making the "zombie" bug a perfect first meal for the wasp's young.
