Photo: "The Lost Symbol" and the Freemasons: 8 Myths Decoded



Shown in summer 2009 at London's Library and Museum of Freemasonry, this symbol-filled Masonic "jewel" was fashioned from bone, straw, and other scrap materials by French prisoners of war in the 1800s.

Freemasons feature prominently in novelist Dan Brown's new book, The Lost Symbol, released on September 15, 2009.
