Hurricane Flossie drifts closer to Hawaii's Big Island (top left), as seen in a satellite image taken on August 13 at 1:10 p.m. local time.

The storm is expected to brush the southern tip of the island and continue on to the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, home to the world's largest marine sanctuary.
