I think these children are beautiful. I'm multi-racial and  Natives love albino buffalo. It's a sign from Great Spirit. It's too bad that Caucasian albinos here in the U.S. turn a white eye to their brother's and sisters and won't admit they are their family and help them and reclaim their heritage and ancestry. I guess a lot of Caucasians think they are too good for them.

Hi Sasha. How do I get in contact with you directly regarding this. I'm an artist who would love to create portrait pieces, bringing awareness to this issue. Regards WarrenJFox

My Father, Great  Grand Mother on my Fathers side, as well as his twin sister, and four of my grand children(by my oldest son)

are all Albino. I cannot stomach the thought a barbarian from what ever primeval tribe would hurt them or anyone else whose only crime in life is being born Albino.

And little research has been done to authenticate the fact that there are actually three types of Albinos. The latter (Type 3) having slightly pigmented skin. My favorite Niece is a Type 3.

You can scarcely imagine how fiercely I would defend them or anyone else who is persecuted because of their genes. I only wish that I could show the pictures of my family.

This is so horrible, a midst  sophisticated technologies, developed educational system around the world, there are still people who operates such medieval atrocities. This is not just Tanzania's problem. This is OUR problem too.  We urged those who have the power and means to further educate this people. And hopefully to totally eradicate this horrible acts.

It's scary and sad, their own families and people go against them for something that they can't control. I wish I could help.

Sadly, the killings continue.  Tanzanian television just reported the murder of a 7 year old with albinism and his grandfather in the community of Tahora.

Photojournalist Jacquelyn Martin visited the Kabanga Protectorate Center where these photos were taken after learning about it through the work of Asante Mariamu

Please check out www.asante-mariamu.org. to learn more about the challenges facing East Africans with albinism.

Perhaps these children should be placed for adoption in another country. They are all beautiful and I full admire the young 20 year old man, Maajabu Boaz. He is beautiful. Makes me think of Boaz of the Bible.

Many Native Americans revere the Albino Buffalo, and protect them. These Buffalo are considered sacred and may bring good fortune.  It is sad that Albino children around the world are feared or considered to bring bad fortune.

I agree, Angel is so beautiful! Thank heavens that Tanzania tries to protect their Albinos. If  those in Tanzania will pay up to $75,000 for a "complete Albino set," they are in realty paying that price for murder, as no one could live after having all those parts removed from their bodies. So that means most Witch Doctors are definitely NOT "doctors" as we Americans define the word Doctor.

My daughter was once a Peace Corps Volunteer in a West African county.  She told us that there were "occasional" Witch Doctors who tried to help persons, not harm or kill them.

Zawia Kassim is lovely! What a gorgeous smile that girl has. I hope she does become a teacher; I would like to learn lessons from someone who has been through so much and still can smile with such genuine joy. Keep going Zawia!!!
