Chubut, Argentina, September 14, 2009--A dead pilot whale lies on a beach in Bustamante Bay. The animal was one of at least 40 that mysteriously stranded themselves over the weekend.

Scientists plan to investigate why the whales beached themselves along the bay, the same region where 400 pilot whales became stranded in 1991.
