July 29, 2009--The setting sun illuminates layers of Earth's atmosphere in a picture taken by the crew of the recently returned space shuttle mission.

After more than two weeks in space, during which they added to a Japanese lab on the International Space Station, the Endeavour astronauts touched down smoothly on July 31 at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
