Beijing, China, August 26, 2009--An assistant paints artist Liu Bolin to look just like a temple wall in a hutong, or ancient residential neighborhood, in central Beijing. (See more Beijing pictures.)

Known as the "Vanishing Artist," Liu has been making himself "invisible" for more than four years. He describes his performance art as a form of political protest against the watchful eyes of Chinese authorities.
