Lima, Peru, August 4, 2009--A health worker holds one of hundreds of pigs found living near a garbage dump not far from the South American capital.

The animals, which were being illegally bred in unsanitary conditions, were taken to a slaughterhouse to avoid spreading disease, according to local authorities.
