Dénia, Spain, July 6, 2009--A bull follows revelers into the water as part of the festival of Bous a la Mar, or "Bulls to the Sea."

Spain's most famous bull fete might be the annual seven-and-a-half-day festival of San Fermín, kicked off by the running of the bulls through the streets of Pamplona. But numerous small towns have local variants on the theme.

Dénia's waterlogged bulls are later retrieved by boat, according to the Associated Press.
