Its fake because had man really landed on the moon 40 years ago, by now he should have started a colony out there. Why havent there been more manned explorations? Very unlike human nature, to stop explorations after 1 or 2 "successful" trips. After conquering the Everest, there have been innumerable "conquests", by ladies, by the visually impaired, even by the physically handicapped!! So what stops man from going to the moon again? Especially with the leaps and bounds in communication and technology that have taken place in the last 40 years!

Well, it's fake because I don't have a clue how they did that, so it must be faked, because I never studied physics or astronomy or rocket science, or tried to read any books or take any classes about science, or technology, or read up about lunar landings, so I will just make up stuff in my head, because it's so hard to comprehend how people can actually be smarter than me.  So yes, it's a total fake.  Yeah.  Right.  Yeah.     And I don't trust the goverment either, so yeah, it's fake.  I'll go back to eatin' my french fried taters. Mmm hmm.

OK folks, very easy : there are no airports on the moon. The surface is totally uneven.- No one would have taken the risk to send two brave men there, hoping that by chance their module would finally stand more or less upright.

The risk simply was too high.-The thing could have fallen down a crater.-Imagine the scenario of 2 men starving on the moon instead of turning into heroes.- Impossible and unthinkable.

I work in a restaurant in Houston, and spoke with a NASA Rocket Scientist several weeks ago.  I asked him if we can pass through the Van Allen Belt ....He laughed and said no. Simple.The Earth is surrounded By the Van Allen Radiation Belt.I posted this comment yesterday on Gizmodo , And It was removed within minutes. Why?

And the Soviet Union, with its equipment designed to detect any missile the U.S. launched to make sure it wasn't an attack, decided to go along with the hoax?

Yeah, right

just wondering why the shadows of the flag are opposite of the rest of the shadows. and any good conspiracy is one where no one believes that the conspiracy can exist while the actions point to all the reason it does exist. ask a kennedy assassination witness how government conspiracies worked for them. btw america had everything to gain through possibly faking this landing. the us and ussr were in the midst of the cold war. technology went well beyond the launch of the rocket. if you proved to the american people that we went to the moon, no one would object  to the absurd funding spent on nasa. it drew americans closer together and made this country whole following the kennedy killings.  kind of sounds like the same patriotic bs spoon fed to the public after 9-11. look at the trillions we spent on what? we killed the 2 leaders we put into position but yet terrorism continues to this very day. odd that afghanistan is a large supplier of poppies and heroin in this country is out of control. kind of sounds like vietnam all over again. and of course government "experts" will dispute everything conspirators believe. that is their job. see how easy it all is if you just stop to think a little outside the box instead of eating off the spoon that feeds you the bs daily.

Irony: People who insist the government can't do anything right believe they have kept the most massive conspiracy in all of human history a secret for four decades. The cover up would be harder than actually going to the moon!

the moon is 300 thousand miles away ,,we have never been more than 400 mile from the earth ,,end of argument ,,,,,,, weve been lied too n those who believed for years still wont believe that they have been lied to cause it scares them ,,,,,:)  it makes them feel insecure ,,any government who kills its own president is goin to lie about whatever s*** it can ,,,, neil armstrongs face said enough ????

Take a photo from the Lord of the Rings movie, explain me the shadows and tell me that the dragons are real. :)

Four and a half decades after the first landing, are these photographs the only proofs we have of man ever landing on the moon?

@Jon Hilberbrand.

Science does not believe in fairy tails, only facts. And good to see the facts are at last coming out, mostly due to the whistle blowers at the time who wanted this hoax to be exposed , had they spoke up at the time needless to say the same faith would have happened to them as the ten others that mysteriously lost their lives. One example been the safety adviser Steve Barron  who commissioned a report on the project in which stated chances of getting to the moon  safely was 0.016% not to mention getting back. He and his family was killed in a tragic  car crash. and the report never published.

More and more people now (69% of Americans ) now believe the moon landings ware a hoax.

So at this point in time the only ones that are been fooled is themselves!!!!

If the landings were faked, what was the motivation? We certainly didn't gain  resources or territory. Sadly, too many people seem to be unable to derive truth from the evidence. To quote a friend of mine - "Don't bother me with the facts; I already know what I believe." The landings did happen and I'm proud to be from the country that achieved them.

Reading this drivel makes me think that the majority of commentators are life members of the Flat Earth Society. Come on people, the expose would be worth millions. Too much facts out there to believe in the theoris of the hairbrained who believe it was a hoax. I suppose their education was as well. Save us from the crazies and their footprint and flag theories..

Simple confirmation for that is needed  "send men to the moon with today

technology".

Is it possible or not?

Remember what Pres. Lincoln did say, and what Pres. Kennedy later did quote: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time" Don't you think someone would have told the "truth" by now? It is the same about The Bible, no lie will last 2.000 years.

In the honor of the brave men who DID travel to the Moon we could at least believe that it is true, because it is. Why they went there is another thing, but they DID!

Apparently, Marvin Zeichner hasn't read the rest of this article, which adequately explains his arguement so about footprints and why stars don't appear

Another hoax perpetrated by the Government. The shot of the Earth as viewed from the Moon is too small. It would appear huge, since the Earth is so much larger than the Moon. As for the space suits, which back pack is supposed to maintain pressure, supply oxygen, heat and cooling? What about the footprints the astronauts made? (not possible without moisture. and where are the stars in the Lunar sky?

Ajay Verma

Please note that the shoes of this astronaut are torn caps...???

If the space is real, and he is in space and wearing a fully covered space suit on the moon land, so why the shoes are torn, when the air pressure is harder on the land of moon, and man needs to wear a space suit to save him/ her from high pressure of atmosphere of moon...??

He may be destroyed in a single moment in this atmosphere where air pressure is higher and shoes are torn, that cannot save anyone in entering air from the shoes..??

Chris Carter

@Michael Juergen Gnaedig Fischer You realise that the astronauts could actually 'fly' the lunar module in a similar way to that of a helicopter. This is exactly what Neil Armstrong did during the Apollo 11 landing to avoid a boulder field. Did you not know this Michael?

@Johnny Allen The shadows of the flag are not opposite to the rest of the shadows at all. You're just another waste of space hoax nutter.

@Karl Bensley We didn't have the technology to fake it. Remember, this is 1969. Instgram didn't exist. Video editing was hard if not downright impossible.

Do some research into the sound studios in England at the time... film legend Stanley Kubrick was filming there at the time.. Space Odessey 2001... Other 'moon' movies were filmed there too. it is believed that , in order to fund his film, he staged photos for NASA and was held to secrecy.   This is not so difficult to imagine. Even if the trip to the moon was successful, the photos taken there might not be so good. So, NASA had publicity photos taken at he soubnd stage in England.  What is weird is this....later, and very telling, came The Shining (Stanley Kubrick) Look at the subtle background references. look into it, Stanley was telling us something. Artists need to speak, and they don't lie.

America and Russia were in the middle of the Cold War. Both terrified of the other, and determined to prove their superiority. The moon landing was the ultimate goal. Whoever got there first won! They started out firing rockets, then they achieved orbit in an empty rocket, then they sent up monkeys, dogs, etc, and eventually a man or two. All of a sudden they were landing on the moon. I suppose they could repeat the performance but modern opponents to the American system would not be as impressed by such a performance. They were also developing nuclear weapons thinking that the country that had the biggest and the most would be the safest. Bit like school bully thinking, really.

Vini Almeida

@Fred Mullins  What was the motivation? The motivation was to get recognition from the world and to pass an image of power, you know, Americans love to do this. And also to get more Americans like you, "proud to be from the only country that achieved it".

Jon Hilderbrand

@Husam Al-Zaher  Absolutely. But, even if it were done, you would still have deniers. Many people simply have ideological--even religious, reasons NOT to believe. Rational thought, evidence, experience, eyewitness testimony, none of these, singly or concomitantly are enough to convince. If a person does not WANT to believe, chances are they never will.

@Marvin Zeichner Marvin, you seem to think that the lunar soil is similar to the sand you find at the beach. WRONG. The lunar soil is much finer than sand and its granular composition allows it to interlock when compressed. Gee, that hoax theory of yours sure was easy to debunk. Here is the link to the above info -

@Ajay Verma Are you high? Where are there torn boots? And there is no atmosphere on the moon to speak of, it is essentially a vacuum.

It's impossible to convince a "True Believer" in conspiracies with facts. Any evidence you show them just proves (to them) you are duped or part of the conspiracy.

@Elayna Sadorus @Fred Mullins  Funny everything you say is from William Kare’s documentary (mockumentary?) Dark Side of the Moon, which originally aired on French TV channel Arte in 2002 as Opération Lune. that is a fake documentary meant to be a joke with clues throughout to prove how archive 'footage' and out of context statements can be sewed together to appear to be history. Most of the interviewees were actors reading script or original real characters in on a joke such as Christina Kubrick herself or footage of the likes of Kissinger and Alexander Haigh being interviewed about something totally different. For instance when Kissinger was shown saying he 'would do it all again', he was talking about the Vietnam war. At the end of the 'movie' is a bloopers reel SHOWING the actors flubbing their lines and messing up and laughing about it! It states that the whole thing was fictional in the credits. It even has Nixon sending 150,000 troops to kill four people that were present at the faked moon landing filming who went into hiding in Vietnam disguised as peasants. It is a farce, the whole Kubrick thing - made up joke. An yet somehow it has gone into the background of something someone heard about or saw and is now used as a source! Talk about do some research! Start with: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Side_of_the_Moon_(film)

And the watch the whole film at : http://dangerousminds.net/comments/stanley_kubrick_faked_the_apollo_11_moon_landing

if you want some laughs.

Brian Gregory

@Elayna Sadorus @Fred Mullins  Nonsense, utter drivel! Kubrick had nothing to do with any of this. The technology was not there to fake it either, you obviously know nothing about cameras and camera lenses. Plenty of evidence for going to the moon. People believe any old conspiracy crap, makes them feel like they're on to something, a bit of excitement amongst the daily grind.

So Russia is in on the hoax? And all the other countries with telescopes? Give me a freakin' break!

Jon Hilderbrand
Jon Hilderbrand

@Virginia Dare @Fred Mullins  Well, the space program did make Teflon, Tang, and Velcro popular, but your "money" drone falls flat otherwise, because faking the program would cause such unfathomable, untold, catastrophic consequences for EVERYONE involved-- Boeing, Lockheed, DuPont, OUR WHOLE COUNTRY, etc. etc., ad infinitum-- if it were discovered that it could not possibly be worth the risk! Besides, "Three people can keep a secret--if two of them are dead" (B. Franklin), so how long do you think this "hoax" could have lasted with the THOUSANDS of people involved in it?

Jon Hilderbrand
Jon Hilderbrand

@Vini Almeida @Fred Mullins  Weak motive. And jingoistic. On your part, not Mullins'.  I am an American, and I do not "love to do this". They landed on the moon, picked up some rocks and dirt, and came back. So what? As thrilling as I think it was, I think the money could have been better spent on eliminating poverty and supporting social services and such, but I was only 9 when it happened and no one asked me.  [:(

Karl Bensley

@Jon Hilderbrand @Vini Almeida @Fred Mullins the money was spent on drugs n parties the moon was an excuse ,,,90million on three moon buggies ha ,,fooled ,,it was made into a soap opera ,,and the people bought it the money wasnt wasted in space ,,no one went anywhere ,,think about it ,,it was a front
