Astronaut Andrew Feustel installs a new camera on the Hubble Space Telescope with the help of fellow spacewalker John Grunsfeld (not pictured) on May 14, 2009.

The new wide-field camera, working in tandem with other Hubble instruments, will be able to systematically search for certain types of exploding stars. Its observations could provide the information scientists need to better measure the expansion of the universe and get a handle on the mysterious force known as dark energy.
