First Place, Macro Photography

Texan Vickie Coker's macro lens, intended for close-up photography, caught this exquisitely camouflaged pygmy seahorse on a sea fan in the Malaysian section of the South Pacific island of Borneo--winning her a first place prize in the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science's 2009 amateur underwater-photography contest.

The tiny, coral-dwelling fish are typically no taller than an inch (2.5 centimeters).
