March 17, 2009--With ocean and clouds as a backdrop and a Russian craft at left, the NASA space shuttle Discovery prepares to dock with the International Space Station in this photo taken by a space station crew member.

In the shuttle's open cargo bay are the station's final pair of solar power-generating wings, which will double the power available for experiments and will help support a larger crew, the astronauts told U.S. President Barack Obama during a phone call on March 24, the Associated Press reported.
