Teotihuacán, Mexico, March 21, 2009--People gather to watch the sunrise from the top of the Pyramid of the Sun during spring equinox (what is the spring, or vernal, equinox?).

The pre-Aztec city of Teotihuacán was built by an unknown people almost 2,000 years ago. The Pyramid of the Sun, the third largest pyramid in the world, was built over a cave network likely used for ancient rituals. (See more sprinig equinox pictures.)
