Ramat Gan, Israel, February 3, 2009--Male African lion cubs bare their teeth before vaccinations at the Ramat Gan zoological center near Tel Aviv.

Located in one of Israel's most densely populated districts, the Ramat Gan facility includes a 250-acre (101-hectare) re-creation of an African savanna, complete with free-roaming zebras, lions, and elephants

The park has had such surprising success breeding African elephants that space for them is limited, and many zoos around the world now house Israeli-born pachyderms, according to Israel's ERETZ magazine.
