Obama's ability to unite diverse groups has inspired many in this country of 38 million, which was riven by ethnic violence a year ago. "America has shown that [ethnic politics] doesn't have to be that big problem," Joseph Osoo, a Kenyan doctor, told the AP. "Democracy can work."
