December 2, 2008--The stunning Omega Centauri globular cluster contains millions of stars. The grouping, about 17,000 light years from Earth, appears as large as the full moon does from the Southern Hemisphere.

A new image from the European Organisation for Astronomical Research is based on data from a telescope in Chile. Recent research points to a possible black hole at the cluster's core.
