Hangzhou, China, November 18, 2008--Rescuers at the site of a collapsed, half-built subway tunnel search for missing workers after an accident Saturday in Zhejiang province in eastern China.

Nine have since been confirmed dead, and officials still investigating the cause of the accident told Reuters the findings may lead to stricter safety oversights. Hangzhou is among several provincial cities now building or expanding subway systems.

Experts and state media have said that there is little hope of finding the remaining victims alive.
