November 3, 2008--Yemen's Wadi Hadramawt is swamped with floodwaters visible from space nearly a week after Tropical Storm Three soaked the normally-arid nation on October 24-25.

This Terra satellite image, taken October 30, shows standing pools of floodwater (blue), and sodden sands and mud (turquoise) along the Wadi's main course and throughout its many tributaries.

The surging waters claimed some 180 lives and left some 20,000 homeless.
