Fuzhou, China, October 30, 2008--Qi Hao, a 20-year-old panda that survived May's earthquake in Sichuan province, gets a thorough physical examination.

The panda was transferred to southern China's Fujian province after its home in the Wolong Giant Panda Reserve was devastated by the earthquake, the Associated Press reports.

There are less than 2,500 giant pandas left in the wild, according to the IUCN, which lists the species as endangered. Restricted and degraded habitat is the greatest threat.
