Lourdes, France, September 13, 2008--Faithful Catholics walk during the Marian Procession of Light at the Rosary Basilica in southwestern France.

In 1858 a 14-year-old peasant girl, Bernadette Soubirous, said she had visions of the Virgin Mary at the site. On September 13, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI was on hand to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the apparition, drawing large crowds.

More than six million pilgrims visit the site each year, many sick or disabled hoping for a miraculous cure by spring waters.
