Orange, Texas, September 15, 2008--As flood waters from Hurricane Ike's storm surge receded, thousands of fish were stranded inland, including those here on the shoulder of a road. Nearby, dozens of fish ended up stuck head first through a chain link fence, the Associated Press reported.

"There are fish everywhere," Orange resident Sarah Blohm told the news service.

Hurricane Ike slammed the Gulf Coast on Saturday. Maximum storm surge was about 15 feet (4.6 meters) near the Texas-Louisiana border.
