Montevideo, Uruguay, September 30, 2008--Herd mentality can lead to strange places. Here, thousands of sheep board a Panamanian cargo ship bound for Jordan.

The Almawashi is carrying 18,000 sheep and 12,000 head of cattle and is stocked with more than 4.4 tons (4 metric tons) of fodder and 1,800 gallons (7,000 liters) of water for the crossing, which takes about 25 days, according to Agence France Presse.
