Bangkok, Thailand, August 28, 2008--More than then thousand protestors remained camped in Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej's Bangkok office compound.

The People's Alliance for Democracy accuses Samak of corruption and of serving as a proxy for deposed leader Thaksin Shinawatra.

Despite mounting legal pressures, the demonstrators have vowed to stay at least until Sunday in the hope of forcing Samak's resignation.

The prime minister plans to remain in office and said police would not use violence against the protestors.
