Badalingzhen, China, August 7, 2008—In a haze-shrouded section of the Great Wall of China, volunteers perform an Olympic torch ceremony on the eve of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

The torch's controversy-ridden global tour officially ended Friday night with the lighting of the cauldron during the opening ceremonies.

The flame will be kept at a secret location when it arrives at Beijing National Stadium, also known as the Bird's Nest.
