Ha Hoa District, Vietnam, August 9, 2008—Vietnamese people evacuate their flooded village by boat in the wake of torrential rains from tropical storm Kammuri.

At least a hundred people have died and 50 are missing, officials said Monday as the rains continued. The downpour, flash floods, and landslides have downed power lines, cut rail links, destroyed crops, and swept away entire villages.

"This has been the worst flooding since 1971," Tran Anh Van, a disaster official in Yen Bai, told the news agency AFP.
