Duhnen, Germany, July 13, 2008—Harness racers drive horses through puddles on Germany's North Sea coast during the Duhnen Mudflats Races. The annual races, which drew about 35,000 spectators this year, are run on seafloor exposed by the region's dramatic tidal swings.

The German news site The Local reported four tourists were hurt at the event this year when their horse-drawn wagon overturned. A photographer was also seriously injured after being run over by a horse that had strayed from the course.
