Edinburgh, United Kingdom, July 29, 2008—Seven times a day Diego, a three-month-old black howler monkey at the Edinburgh Zoo, is fed a milk substitute that contains nutrients he'd normally get from his mother.

He was just a few days old when zookeepers found his mother, Molly, dead.

Diego will be reintroduced to the zoo's howler monkey troop within a year. The loud species is native to South America, where they are hunted for their meat.
