Dedaya, Myanmar (Burma), May 13, 2008—A group of Myanmar children race for aid supplies in the rain.

With the death toll from Cyclone Nargis now estimated at well past a hundred thousand people, the UN has warned that up to 2.5 million inhabitants face further death and misery from lack of access to food, clean water, and shelter unless they receive immediate assistance.

But relief efforts have progressed slowly in the region, according to wire reports, partially due to limitations imposed by the country's military rulers.
