Near Bangkok, Thailand, May 13, 2008—A crocodile makes its debut during the annual May-to-August crocodile-hatching festival at Sriracha Tiger Zoo—adding to the estimated hundred thousand crocs in residence there.

The festival isn't the only spectacle at the Thai zoo, where tigers sometimes nurse piglets dressed in tiger-print costumes and jump through hoops in a circus show.

Such practices—and alleged involvement in the illegal animal trade—have put Sriracha on the watch lists of groups such as the Animal Welfare Institute.
