Heavy Rains Cause Flooding Across Midwest

The coliseum, which served as a Butler County Emergency Management shelter for flood victims, housed 122 people fleeing rain and flooding that have devastated the state.

President George W. Bush declared a major disaster in Missouri and ordered federal aid to areas affected by flooding, according to the Associated Press.

Record-level flooding is expected to hit several parts of Missouri on Friday and Saturday.
