The country's worst snow storms in 50 years have killed at least 24 people and stranded hundreds of thousands of people, the Associated Press reported. The extreme weather has brought traffic to a standstill in eight provinces and cut off a key rail link.

More than 67 million people have been affected, according to AP. Economic losses are estimated at three billion U.S. dollars, the state-run Xinhua news service reported.
