Taean, South Korea, December 10, 2007A sea star, or starfish, covered in oil lies at Shinduri beach, about 106 miles (170 kilometers) southwest of Seoul.

About 2.7 million gallons (10.2 million liters) of oil spilled into the sea on December 7, when a barge collided with a supertanker carrying more than 260,000 tons of crude oil.

The spill has polluted hundreds of seafood farms and turned beaches black along about a hundred miles (160 kilometers) of the country's western coast, the Associated Press reported.
