Delacour Langur (Vietnam)

No more than 200 to 250 of these monkeys are thought to exist—all of them in a small region of northern Vietnam. Poachers often kill the animals and sell their bones, organs, and tissues for use in traditional medicines, according to a new report.

The species was named one of the 25 most endangered primates in the October 27, 2007, report by the Primate Specialist Group of the World Conservation Union's Species Survival Commission (SSC) and the International Primatological Society, in collaboration with Conservation International.
