Theres Nerat of Ramona, California, milks her goat next to son Ian (right) and Marla Haney at San Diego's Mission Bay beach on October 23, 2007.

Nerat purchased her goats to clear the brush around her home, a move that saved her home from being destroyed.

The evacuees are among the estimated 950,000 people in San Diego County forced from their homes due to aggressive wildfires.
