October 25, 2007Not since the 1970 launch of the Boeing 747 has a successful passenger flight drawn so much attention. Today the Airbus 380 superjumbo lifted off from Singapore (pictured), marking the model's first commercial trip. (Watch a video report on the flight.)

As wide as a football field, the behemoth dethroned the 747 as the world's biggest passenger plane.
