Wuhan, China, September 3, 2007—Parents of Chinese college freshman go to the mat for their children at a university in Wuhan (China map).

The university laid out pads in its gymnasium to accommodate overnighting parents during the first days of the 2006-07 school year. For many first-time collegians in the world's most populous country, back-to-school is a multiday family affair.
