"Photographing the Greater Yellowstone [region] at night has been a ongoing project since 2000, when I first wrote and shot a story about the surreal experience while on staff at the Jackson Hole Guide [newspaper]," Wyoming photographer David Stubbs said in a statement.

Stubbs shot this image on a frigid November night in 2006, just before Yellowstone National Park closed for the season.
