September 4, 2007—Hurricane Felix, a Category 5 storm, moves over Central America in this satellite image.

With winds of 160 miles (258 kilometers) an hour, Felix made landfall on Tuesday in Nicaragua, killing four people, Reuters reported. Though the tempest weakened after landfall to a tropical storm, its remnants swept across Honduras inundating the countryside.

Colorado State University hurricane researcher William Gray has predicted six more Atlantic hurricanes this year, three of them major, the Associated Press reported. The new forecast calls for one less storm than the eight predicted in August.
