Cairo, Egypt, August 14, 2007—They may look cute now, but before long these baby Nile crocodiles could reach a staggering 16 feet (5 meters) in length.

That's the dilemma facing the Giza zoo in Cairo, which accepted hundreds of the tiny reptiles on Sunday after they were seized at the Egyptian capital's airport.

Customs officials found the rare crocodiles—along with snakes and chameleons—in the luggage of a Saudi man who claimed the animals were meant for a Saudi "scientific institute."
