Corozal, Belize, August 21, 2007—Waves crash along the sea front after Hurricane Dean blew across Belize.

Officials had issued hurricane warnings for the entire coast of the country

South of Corozal, authorities evacuated Belize City's three hospitals and the mayor urged residents to leave, saying that the city lacked shelters strong enough for Category 5 hurricanes, the Associated Press reported.
