Mumbai (Bombay), India, June 30, 2007— A woman attempts to climb into a train as it rains in Mumbai, the capital of the western Indian state of Maharashtra.

Almost 24 centimeters (about 9 inches) of rain over the week has submerged roads, inundated low lying areas, and disrupted air and rail traffic in India's financial capital.

Since June, 385 people have died in rain-related incidents in the state of Maharashtra, the state Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh told the PTI news agency
