Hepachara, India, March 28, 2007— Children look in on eight-month-old Basir as he sleeps in a cradle. The hut housing Basir is just one of many in a relief camp about 125 miles (250 kilometers) west of Gauhati, India.

The camps were built after ethnic clashes between Bodos, a large ethnic subgroup in India's state of Assam, and minority Muslims forced many local villagers to flee. Having lived in the camps since 1993, more than a thousand Muslims are now anxious to return to their homes.
